Thread: SK server suggestions

I've been playing in the SK server for about 3 years now and sadly for the past year and a half (or longer) I have notice that we dont get alot of clientele and if we do it's all new people that dont stick around very long. 2 years ago I remember that we had a alot players that played almost daily.

I just have a few suggestions as to how we could possilby keep players around.

1st: I hear alot of people complaining about the gravity and speed accel when they come into the server. I dont know if anyone has the original numbers from about a year ago or not, but I think that the original settings made our SK sever unique. I say that because the speed accel wasnt ridiculous like noobsalads server and the gravity was epic, as you good jump from the ct sides noob box almost all the way to the top of the ct tower

2nd: I did apply for admin in the SK server (not trying to convince anyone to make me admin) and I we rarely have an admin in the server making sure things run smoothly. I do know that GreekCowboy is now an admin in the server (gratz cowboy ) I've been playing in the SK server for about 3 years and really would like a shot at being an admin in there. I get along with all the people that do come in and play on the server. I believe I would be a good asset to the server, but its really up to the big wigs.

All in all I just believe that if we have admins in there advertising our other servers and getting to know the people that do come in to the SK server and building relationships with those players we would be better off.

Ive had people tell me they were willing to donate large sums of money for this to be fixed. I was told that speed accel was a permanent change and that nothing was going to be done however this is an issue that needs to be brought up. While I am not a fan of air accel, it is crucial for the style of play that SK entails. If this could be looked into, the NG SK community would be highly appreciative.

And reaper I live in SK while Im home, terribly sorry you feel that I don't do a good enough job. Ive been desperately trying to recruit new trust worthy admins. In addition the SK community has really spiked, activity is way up and trolls/hackers are down. Ive actually hit a full server while been on, something that hasnt happened in years.

you should already know if you need an admin in SK all you need to do is come onto the forums and ask for one in the chatbox, talk/msg admins on vent and on steam.

including the SK admins there are 23 people have can admin SK....

Oh Im not saying that we have shitty admins or anything, I was just simply pointing out that since I've been playing it always seemed rare that an admin was in the server. I do have to give props to Acolyte tho, he has been in the SK server alot recently! (sorry for not reconizing you b4 Acolyte )

I dont believe an admin should be present just when there's a hacker, I believe they should become part of the community of that server as much as they can. To me when I see an admin just sitting in spec. and not doing anything, is lame. Acolyte always post in admin chat on the server about our other servers about our forums and thanks everyone for playing in the server, thats how it should be done.

Im not trying to rag on anyone just simply pointing something out. I have alot of respect for all our admins

Please don't change the gravity or acceleration. One of the biggest reasons I play in NG is that it isn't ridiculous like every other SK server that I've joined with people flying across the whole map. Also, not having no-block is a HUGE plus so don't change that either (I like to knife ). Some of my friends and I from the soccer community (yea we are pretty lame and have been playing for like 4 years) have been playing in SK for awhile and we really think it's perfect how it is. That's my two cents, thanks!

Hey there Pwn, thanks for your suggestions and ideas! I'm very glad to see that you and your friends love the server with all of its glory. We, in NoobGalore, try to get suggestions from players to admins to see what we can try to make better for our servers and our community. Every1's suggestion is always welcomed and appreciated.

Im not saying change the gravity to what all the other crappy servers have, im saying if anyone has the original settings to what the server used to be about a year ago is what it should be. Even then NG SK was unique unlike the other SK servers. All in all the server has always been different than other SK servers and will remain that way, cuz we are NoobGalore

Im being serious, some of these people have put way too much time into the NG server to simply walk out on it but can't stand the current state of it. A lot of the SK servers have been shutting down leaving NG and only a handful of others still in working state. But.. yeah lets face it if the server was changed to original settings I doubt anyone would actually pay of course.

Granted I enjoy the difference in gravity and air accel that our server provides. However I can understand the annoyance of not being able to strafe. Just to clarify... there are no plans of change currently correct?

why don't you focus on getting those sk regulars on the forums and get them to give their feedback as well?
