Default Server Crashes - lack of responsse

Being a fairly regular player, lately I have seen the Office servers crashing/DDOS'ed/whatever on a pretty regular basis.

On several occasions the Office servers (I play the AWP Office server mostly) have been down either completely or auto-recovered in a crappy state (laggy) for many hours without anyone noticing or seeming to care.

Today (Saturday 12/27) is a perfect example - AWP Office was down almost all day. Getting on vent or whatever doesn't help as no one is around (trust me I've tried)...

If you are asking for donations to keep these servers running, then shouldn't there be some minimal expectation that these servers be monitored, up and available for play? If they crash shouldn't they be restarted?

Anyway...just frustrating to see these server outages as a regular -maybe it's just me?

    {end rant}

    Regards, Whisky.

If you think nobody knows or doesn't care then you yourself obviously aren't putting in any effort to even try to see what's going on. The servers being down is actually the response to the attacks.

Please learn a little bit about what your talking about prior to submitting posts like this.

You don't just flip on "stop DDOS switches".

Lordy lordy. If you care to learn more you can search the forums for past posts, as I have explained this before....or remain in vent and don't just "pop in and out" .... Ask one of us.

I have notifications, warnings and actions / rulesets that are performed immediately during any attack. I am fully aware of every DoS attack. Our remediation differs depending on the size and length of the attacks.

    Thanks

Appreciate the feedback, but we are deff around to see and know what's going on.

When the servers are getting attacked there isn't much we can do but wait for the idiots doing it to stop. OR we, like Adam said, wait for the providers to remove the null routes on the servers.

Annnddddd..... To say we don't care, I mean come on you know we do....

Ah I see. For future reference and so as to not make a fool of myself in future, could you please let me know where I would see the status of this DDOS attack on the Awp Office server?

I am not that familiar with the forums so I might have missed the post.

    Thanks.

None of this is public information....The less information available to the 'idiots' causing said problems, the less likely they are to continue. What needs to happen however is people need to remember that their actions sometimes have reactions/consequences...So talking shit or acting like a buffoon towards others can result in some stupid ass attacking the server and disrupting it for everybody. Small attacks we are able to avert, medium attacks we can mitigate, but large scale multi-gigabit per second attacks we are forced to take other actions. The easiest way as I said for us all to assist in this is to ensure we just play, and if there are trouble makers or asshats report them appropriately to us on the DL, so we can deal with the situation with out causing any negative factors towards the server. This is the best we can do.

We've been running these servers now for over a decade, and they are *NEVER* down without us being 100% aware, likewise we get them back up as quickly as we possibly can while still averting any attack to the best of our ability.

I like the last sentence of the article.
