    Default Vent guest permissions

    Hello,

    1) In Vent, give guests power to pm A+, or at the bare minimum SA+

    Would really help when there are no admins in css office and an admin is needed
    Would also help prevent massive server cleanouts

    2) Have you thought about upgrading to teamspeak?
    mmm that Aero-compatible GUI

    havent messed with vent much but dear lord the 80s style Terminal font is dated, guys
    let it die

    Regards,

    Changing to Teamspeak would mean that we would have to change information on the website.

    which I don't think is that big of a problem, and

    correct me if I am wrong, but more people use ventrilo than teamspeak because NG is a big community?

    Guests should be able to PM admins, or seniors. I will double check this to ensure thats proper.

    As far as teamspeak -- we've done the flip flop before, and its more work that its worth. We'll get everything transitioned over to teamspeak, and then vent will finally upgrade again and then everyone will move back. IMO it's just not really worth it unless there was a major quality or feature difference between the two, or if there was a large amount of requests for it....TBH you are the first...lol

    Mumble > TeamSpeak > Ventrilo.

    As far as features goes, Teamspeak3 win but for best voice quality Mumble wins. Mumble is great for end users but sucks for admins.

    Yeah, Mumble can be more of a hassle to set up, but I think it's worth it. Like, starting out can be a bit of a pain, but I don't think the learning curve for it is that steep, and in the end, it's really customizable. Not to mention I just love the automatic normalization, the volume attenuation, that it encrypts all data by default, and you don't have to set up fucking whisper groups. Also, it works on Windows, OS X, and Linux, which I love.

    Adam owns http://www.ventrilo.co/ hosting for ventrillo. Your thoughts fall on deaf ears.
