Thread: My introduction

Sup guys, my name's Jon. I'm new here. Been playing on the counter strike crackhouse death match server. In my free time I like to play: CSS, skyrim, diablo 3, and GTA. Question though: i'm looking to get a headset so I can join in ventrillo and the server's talk or something, but I don't know what makes a headset good. If anyone could point me in the direction of some good headsets or recommend something that's under or around $80 that would be great.

I had a cheap $17 walmart logitech for over a year now and it still work awesome (it goes around both of your ear and it sound pretty good at a cheap price). Enjoy your stay on the forum and dont forget to checkout hideout cuz that's where all the fun is at.

I ran with both of these cal-i pro-am etc... There great for the money the only problem is if you throw them they will break after maybe the 10th throw lol!

SteelSeries makes great gaming headphones. I've had two different sets. The first was a 5HV2 which was amazing and I would recommend buying (mine broke because I ran over the wire too many times ). The one I have now is the Siberia V2, which is also great, but not as comfortable as my 5HV2 was. These two sets cost about $100 though.

FYI: I'd recommend getting a Non USB headset. The USB ones usually come with crappy drivers, and your mobo/sound card drivers are better. Also, some "USB" headsets come with the option to use a USB or 3.5 mm connection, so that you don't have to use the included drivers.

Hello and welcome to the forums, those are all awesome games to play. Anything logitech really will work, or the creative fatality headset which is what i used to use, detachable mics tend to get lost easily though.

Hey Jon. I use the turtle beaches. PX21's. I personally love them and would recommend the warranty with it because I had to use it once because I got a little mad :o They have a great bass booster which I love, chat volume (programs such as skype, vent, ts3, etc), game volume (any other windows program like google chrome, stea, etc), and an expander which expands the sound so you can hear in game sounds better. Also makes the ak sound a bit nicer imo.

Hey guys, checking back. Thanks for the warm welcome and great advice. I looked up reviews for the headsets and decided to get the GameCom 780; because, the reviews were through the roof. Also, they were a steal at only $57 new with free shipping. I almost went with the Siberia V2 (that headset looks so cool) but decided to go with the gamecom 780. Thanks again. See you in game!
