Thread: Hijacked account

My fn steam account was just hijacked today. am in the process of retrieving it but dont know how long that will take. This pisses me me off. This better not lead to a vac ban because of this asshole running ripshod on my user. eerrr

Just thought i'd give everone a headsup.
I opened a link that someone sent me from my friends list pointing to steamforums. then wam. no access to my account.

yeah --- watch out for the phishing assholes!!!! Even if its a friend, be CAREFUL of ***ANY*** link you click through ANY of the chat/voice programs or pms.


You should be able to gather your account back, as long as you can proove the ID is yours. Typically they ask for the last 4 digits of CC # used to purchase, or the proof of purchase code on the game box.

I'm sure that you will get it back in no time. I submitted my ticket yesterday around 2pm and i got a reply with my account info almost exactly 24 hours later. It seems like they are quick and very helpful Hang in there.

Hey Prodigy apparently this all goes back to me. i got a message from cyanide yesterday and i didnt know what he was talking about...he hada link to the steamforums too, which i clicked. and just a minute ago sinatra was talking to me, he said my account was phished or something, and i was sending false links to people on my friends list including sinatra,you and blacksix.

I dont know too much about this shit. my steam autologs me on startup and i havent used steam in a good 5 months. so youre getting an apology from me even though i dont know what to apologize for haha.

Naw.. it wasnt you I got it from but thanks man. I honestly didnt think to much about the link considering it came from someone i play with all the time I just checked it out and got fucked. wont happen again though. BTW.. still waiting.

it will come prod just wait it out. they were very quick replying to me. As long as you bought something on steam with your debit/credit card then there should be no question the account is yours
