I analyze and talk about politics for a living in most situations (love being a political scientist) but IMO either way we are screwed because the candidates are more concerned with bashing each other and telling people why not to vote for the other person instead of why we should vote for them. I also think that candidate-centered politics is more at work in this election than parties. Anyhow, I am voting but it's not for either of them. Most people think they don't have a choice because its one or the other but that's not true because write-ins are your friend when it comes to voting. When it comes down to neither candidate impresses me at all.

Yea its not really complicated for me. I'm an independent so I just flipped a coin and it ended up Romney. Apparently from what i hear from everyone is if you vote Obama your a "communist sympathizer". If you vote Romney your a "corporate stooge" and if you don't want to get involved in the bullshit your "part of the problem" because you didn't vote and your vote was "wasted". So yea just flip it. The independent vote is the swing vote anyway so pucker up republicans. Some guy told me the best way to get rid of that "nigger democrat", his words not mine, was for everyone to do their civic duty and vote him out or remove him by force....? Silly. My 14 years and 3 deployments in the army wasn't "civic duty" enough? Oh well Romney got my vote from the toss so we'll just see.

    1. "As Governor, Mitt Romney would protect the current pro-choice status quo in Massachusetts." from one of Romney's old campaign sites, letting all of MA know he's all about the lady's choice.
    2. Once claimed to be left of Ted Kennedy (a committed champion of gay rights) on gay rights.
    3. Mitt Romney helped put into place a version of Obamacare in MA before Obamacare was even a thing.
    4. Romney helped make a MA gun restriction law permanent in 2004 - one of the few governors to actually do so!
    5. The Obama administration has deported 1.4 mil (in 4 years) compared to the Bush administration's 2 mil (in 8 years).
    6. The number of oil rigs in the U.S. has quadrupled during Obama's term and we're at an 8 year high for domestic oil production.

    Jussayin'.

In all honesty though, I'm decidedly meh about this year's candidates.

This is why I can't stand politics anymore. Instead of promoting or working towards a unified stance on the issues we're facing, the parties act like children, point their fingers, and blame another for the issues we're facing. They have no ambition of working together, nor do they accept blame for anything. If someone does apologize for something, they certainly aren't sincere about it. What I hate even more, is how the public is reacting to this election. Its exactly like Reverend pointed out. These days you're publicly chastised for not believing in someones party. People have no respect or common decency when it comes to politics. I just hope that people start to wake up come 2016 and realize this two party system, with no in-between, is ruining the country.

I probably wont be voting this year.
