    Default Zombie Server

    i used to play on this zombie mod [reload] server before i join NG and i remember it used to be pack day to day. i was just wondering if we can change our zombie server from having escape map to camping map. I was addict to that zombie server because it was really fun. when you knife a zombie it went flying off and i know lot of people really dont like Escape map. I think if we can change our Zombie Server is into the concept of the video below WE can get it POPULATE again. With all the man power we have we can fill it everyday.
    I REALLY HOPE WE CHANGE THE WAY OUR ZOMBIE SERVER IS TO THIS CONCEPT

    Here how the zombie server that i used to play runs

    - Round shorter around 4-5 min.
    - Allow block
    - When you knife a zombie it went flying
    - Mostly Camp map like Lila Panic, Roy Highway

    yes, we have both. The camping maps fall off the balance table with too many or too few zombies, and it only takes one person to mess them up.

    Inevitably they turn in to "How can I break the map and get in to the cheapest spot possible". Similar to when we played last week on little city and I blockaded the only entrance and won the game.

    If anything, we should look into more map testing, clearing out the broken maps, and getting more new ones.

    Zombie testing still has a steamgroup if I remember correctly, so we could probably open up the roster of it and get testing rolling once more now with the increased interest

    You have a point but what im thinking is changing the zombie server into the concept like the link i post. we never have problem when there are only 2 zombie that spawn out of 40 peoples. they still screw it up and get infected. and yes i agree with you about testing the map and get rid of the broken one. I just want us to change it to that link concept and see how it goes. I really want our zombie server to be populate again.

    The server config is set to only one zombie spawn, but the thing about escape maps is that most players tend to stick together, so when a zombie spawns. Bam, turns into a shitstorm real fast. Its more fun taking on 10+ zombies with a team versus an entire gang against you.

    As for the Escape and Cade maps, we do have both to spice things up a bit and to bring in both sets of maps so every player has a chance to play on their favorite type.

    As for the "rocket" shot zombie deal, we disabled that a long time ago because any player can "accidentally" blast a zombie way up ahead and screw over everyone else (which is also in part of the reason why we got rid of scouts, people used them to get ahead of everyone else and wait for others to cover their backs).

    Allowing block is like two sides to a coin, it can be a good thing and it can really mess things up. If we allowed block, it can interfere with people trying to escape and potentially killing themselves (nothing sucks more than having to sit out an entire round), or intentionally blocking certain pathways so that others need to go around.

    I was one of the main guys and gals that maintained the Zombie Map Testing (ZMT) team to test out new maps all the time, we have really strict guidelines that the map needs to pass before its even cleared to be a candidate on Zombie, for example:
    - Plenty hold/choke points for humans
    - Easily defendable spots for humans
    - Alternate routes for zombies to use
    - Spawn zones need to be able to handle 35+ players (some are not and can crash or cause players to be spawned into each other)
    - Good objective/mission areas to get to
    - Overall appearance (good skybox, little to no glitch[able] locations, etc.)
    - Is the map easy to understand and/or possible to reach end in timelimit?
    - Do other player like the map?
