Thread: VAC Banned players

Every once in a while when I look at the stats for office I noticed some players with a note next to their name saying "Player has been VAC banned for at least one game." Just wondering why they would normally be tagged with this considering I see them playing in the server later. I would assume if it was a ban for hacking it VAC would perm ban them?

The VAC ban that is on file isn't from CS if they are playing in the server. VAC is used on other games that run on steam, so the VAC ban could be from like MW2 or another game. It doesn't always mean a hack either. It could be something stupid like a skin or just something that VAC thinks is a hack and bans for it.

VAC bans used to only last a year. I have another account that was banned for a year for a mod I tried. Then it was unbanned a year later, but it still says there is a VAC ban on that account.

Now the bans are permanent, of course.
