Thread: Team-Flash Identification

I was floating around some no-name server while Dust 2 was down the other day and i noticed they had a mod or an addon that identifed anyone who flashed their own team and for how long those teamates were flashed for. I know alot of teamflash is accidental, but this might make it easier to identify those who are "accidentaly" teamflashing more than others and allow Admins to warn/kick/ban easier.

i do think this would be a good tool to have since we already have the hostage killing warning on some servers. However, there will be some people that will try to beat the mod and team flash in a inconsistent way and not every round.

Keep in mind the system resources it takes to run the script..

Not to mention the vast number of team flashes that are the fault of the person who got flashed.

There's no script that says, " CT A was flashed by CT B because CT B threw a flash into a room and CT A moronically ran in the room before it went off"

The biggest problem is that chat would have the message "CT A flashed CT B for X Seconds", every 2 lines of chat. Plus, we do our best to stop dilberate team flashing. Accidental team flashing will happen in 40+ player servers.

Teamflashing happens, whether it's intentional or not. The only time it's absurd is when a particular individual consistently rebuys and spams. Those people don't last very long anyways. Easy to identify, easy to reach an admin, peace. Other than that, the occasional teamflash will always happen, whether there's a public 'warning' or not.

plus we do attract a lot of actual "noobs" to the server who have no idea what is going on lol....i remember when i got flashed the first few times i started cs i didn't know why or what was happening lol

Accidental teamflashes are better off remaining anonymous. If every teamflash resulted in a chatbox line of text, it'd give every person a target to "get back at" and only make things worse. Deliberate teamflashers are easy enough to catch so it's not an issue if there's an admin present. If there isn't one present, get in vent or pm one on steam to get one in there.

Which is exactly what used to happen when we did infact have a similar modification on the servers...It turned into a game to see how many people you could teamflash each round....Got old very quick, to the point the mod was removed
