Thread: Suggestion

I already know before suggesting this that their might be obvious problems with it, but I'm still going to suggest it anyway because it's been one big annoyance to me that I would even likely donate for the perk.

Being exempt from auto-team switch. I'm not sure if this is something that can even be put in, and again it could result in major team stacking (although by default the system would just take the next best person), but it's something I personally would love.

I hate playing as CT for my own reasons (such as constant minimizing in game which doesn't work well as a CT) and I've had rounds where I get switched over literally 10+ times (after switching back to T when available).

This is already implemented. It is one of our available perks. With a $5 donation you can choose to be exempt from auto team balance.

Note:

You get swapped, because its balancing based off statistics. So if one particular side is constantly loosing, and its switching you, thats more than likely because you keep switching back and its determining you to be the best possible solution to removing the stacked teams. Even the teams out, remove the stacking and let the teams re-balance with different players, and then you'd be able to swap to the other side and stay.

you can also just rejoin the server. it will reset your score and the auto balance will pick the next best person it thinks will solve the problem. or donate the 5$ both will solve the problem

Half correct - it won't reset your score, but it would then select the next qualified person, until the next round where you would then again be included in the computed algorithm.

Your statistics are stored in a database, and your ranking from multiple sessions is utilized. I do reset these databases every month or so, because they appear to become unstable and cause server latency issues once they get over 100mb in size.


Yes donating the $5 will solve the problem easily and help support your favorite community at the same time---but again, simply balancing the teams for more than 1 or two rounds will cause the makeup of the teams to switch on their own, which will likely mitigate the issue as well. I don't want people to rely on donating simply to have the ability to 'stack' teams. So be sure to spread that information in the server. If people understand why/how its switching them and if they stop trying to 'counteract' it, it wont need to keep making the switches.
