Thread: The State of Offensive Material and The Majority Fallacy.

I figure this would go under the "Feedback" category. I spend a fair amount of my time on CSS in the NG zombie mod server, actually almost all of my time. I've gotten to know the players and admins. I've been kicked, banned, muted, slain and still I find myself having fun as a whole. The community of the server itself is what I truly enjoy, whether it be Old Man Bob or Tiffany, FTL or Teabag each player brings his own style to a large community of players. Everything I've said before this sentence was to establish that I've been a regular on at least 1 NG server and have a lot of fun there.
Now to get to the point of my topic, recently my spray has been deemed offensive by various admins. In simplest terms it was two men having sex. I do not post this to offend I post it because I like it just as others post what they want. Gay sprays with men as a whole are disapproved of but gay sprays of women are not which leads me to an assumption of a double standard on the part of the community. I've been told that should I see fault with the reasoning behind my penalties I can seek out the higher-ups and attempt to persuade them to change the rules. I hope that this topic can be reviewed and discussed by the members of this forum.

First of all Gay spray's aren't accepted because no matter how you look at it, 90% of the population that plays CSS is going to be straight men. We create rules based around issues that upsets the player base. Whenever a gay spray is sprayed it causes many people to complain. Plain and Simple. People have preferences for EVERYTHING. Some guys get off on 2 girls one cup. Some guys get off on tubgirl.

If we went along with the minority group and allowed sprays like those then the servers traffic will drop off because believe it or not content of sprays effects people coming back.

NG is not a democracy, the rules are set to keep peace and to keep traffic high. This rule in particular with gay or offensive sprays is based off of a majority userbase that prefer's a woman naked or 2 women having sex. We respect everyone equally and we do not discriminate based off of race, sexual orientation, or financial status. If you will have the common courtesy to respect the NG image and STOP with the gay sprays then you can enjoy the servers.

If you cannot learn to stop then you will be banned in the future again.

Well most statistics are made up. Its to provide a rough idea of the amount of people that play that DONT like sprays like that.

lol Most stats ARE made up. They are taken from a target group and then given a +/- % for error. Depends on how the target group answers as well. If they do not answer the statistical poll truthfully then the statistic is ALREADY in error. So even with the give or take % for error it's still nothing near accurate. Most of the population that plays CSS is straight males. Get over it.

I read the first post and thats all I needed. No gay sprays period and we do not give a shit on what you think about it.... End of story!

We don't ban based on sprays, orientation, or age.... We are here to provide a place for the majority of players to play at. We have been doing this for years now, and I can definately tell you the majority of players playing this game in our servers are straight men. If the majority was gay men, then I suppose we'd have dififerent rulesets. If the spray you are spraying in the server isn't bothering anyone, then more than likely you won't be commented to. However, many people try to use this 'situation' just like the 'racism' situation, and utilize it to bring attention and try to 'push' rules into their favor.

If you can provide me proof in some other fashion that our userbase would enjoy seeing your spray, then I will surely allow a vote. On the contrary, if you cannot, we would expect that you respect our wishes the same. Just as you wouldn't walk into a straight bar, and go up and kiss a guy on the lips, our server isn't a place to flaunt your sexuality and sexual preferences.....There have been numerous complaints in response to this as of late, and it needs to be addressed. Please keep in mind also, we do not allow public demonstrations outside our property...We are not a government entity, and again our userbase will dictate the fluctuations in our ruleset.
