Thread: !ngme

I'm just curious about what happen to !NGME? I remember when i first join NG a couple years back and i always enjoy typing !NGME in game to get one of those cool NG tag. Now it doesn't work anymore. I dont know what happen to it but i think that we should bring it back and get everyone to tag up.

The big css update in what spring 2010 messed it up... It doesn't work anymore now that there are clan tags... it used to be how you would join and there were many different variations you could have... so yeah it doesn't work anymore.

So there is no way of fixing it?

People can type it in with whatever font they want.

Yeah there really is no way now to put it back in place

Best thing to do is to get people to add it to there steam name and get them to join the ng steam groups (clan tag)

We can't do anything on our end basically. If it were to be fixed that would mean CS themselves need to launch the update for that purpose. So no, it cannot be fixed.

The reason why this no longer works, is because before the update your name was changed in the CS:S client itself, and now it's based on your Steam profile name. Basically, the server can only force anything on your client (rates, etc.) but cannot do anything with your Steam profile, and therefore, not change your name. If that makes any sense

Makes no sense. I demand !ngme tag be reinstated effective immediately.

almost right - except the server cannot force anything on the clients. They added a tag that is set to no by default a few years back that stops anything like that. (Such as admins using the ma_exec to change your ingame name, or name you say things in chat etc)---This isn't possible any longer.
