Meetings for the better of the community? Look at this guys!

Hey guys. So after talking to several people and hearing their complaints, i came up with an idea that probably has already been brought up before. I want to see if one day a week or more where we can have a community meeting. What the meeting would consist of would be:

-What we want to expand(games\servers\etc)
-Our opinions(what we have problems with or things that we need to keep continuing that is good for our community)
-Ask the upper admins about things that we need or want to know about.(Plenty of people keep asking me questions about the servers and simply I do not have a clue what the answer is so upper admins may know)
-Figure out ways to expand our community, get donations, and how to fix certain problems we are having in servers.

After all of this, i feel like we would get a lot more things done and our community will be a lot closer. We can actually get answers to questions we have and figure out how to make this community bigger than it already is.

The way we will do this meetings is:
-Get at least 1-2 SSA's and 1-2 SA's on
-Anyone that wants to join this vent channel to talk or voice their thoughts can join.
-We will definitely need a system so everyone wont talk at once. We can go one at a time and once everyone is done then the SSA's and SA's can answer questions and voice what they think
-We should have a time limit on how long these meetings are. Not everyone has time and 30minutes to an hour seems manageable for a meeting.
-Meetings at least once or twice a week and once the meetings are over, we can vote someone to keep notes while the meeting is happening and once it is over, they will have notes of what we talk about and we can actually focus on solving some of the problems and have it down on writing.

I just feel like this community is a great community and i want it to keep growing in size. As of right now, i feel like we are struggling with our donations and with expanding. We need to work on this and hopefully we can give this a chance. If you have any other comments or thoughts about this then please comment below. Please refrain from talking about problems of the server on this thread or any negative things. Just comment if it is relevant and what your thoughts on this idea are.

These have been done before, although not really on a regular basis. It's a lot of work to get a community wide meeting set up when most suggestion can easily be brought up on forums. The advantage to forums is people who aren't there at the time can still respond and give input.

If anything I think once a month would be the most beneficial without hearing the same things every single meeting.

Adam sets one up every year. (had one a few months ago) But a bi-annually one would be good, atleast.

Well, usually the meetings are limited to the admins. I believe instead of having just admins we do have an open meeting for regulars to join and ng friends that sort of thing. i mean they are the ones experiencing the community first hand. Most of them have some adequate ideas and could be an unbiased question or action. I just think it would be an interesting thing. Of course during this meeting we will probably have some annoyances or whatever, adam did this thing where only one person can talk at once I dunno how it works but it prevents more than one person from talking at once obviously lol. Another thing, people can record eachother on vent, which is a good feature for this instead of having someone type out the key points of the meeting, so long as adam remembers to allow users to record him xD. Yeah meetings are a good thing you can voice your opinion I liked it, except for miss basically asking and speaking most of the time other than adam at the last one lol.

who will show up if we have these meetings?? the same people every time??

that's why we stress to focus on getting new people and regulars to sign up on the forums and on vent

Well its for whoever can actually make the meetings but at least 1-2 SSA's and 1-2 SA's. Can be anyone.

that doesn't answer my question...

you are suggesting we have a community meeting with the same regs over and over?

how can "anyone" come to the meeting if they're not on vent?

like i said... we NEED to focus on promoting the forums/vent to get ppl to register...

You would mention it on forums/mention it in game and that way more people join vent and forums once they hear they can voice what they want. So that could create more population on vent and forums which we need. Once we have that we may get more donations.

Pyron we have tons of new regs on vent and a little bit on forums. I can tell you right now me and a few people on vent got about 5-6 people to register on vent just to play dayz with us. Also if we spread the word of a community meeting, maybe some people in the servers will think of it as an opportunity to voice their opinion to management and see if they can change a few things of the server. I think it would be a good opportunity not just for the regulars on forums and on vent, but to also increase activity and involvement with both NG and its members alike.
