Thread: CS:S Servers

Hey, all! I'm sneakysneaky ninja, or as you might know me in-game: [A] sneaky ninja the pantless. I frequent both office servers and occasionally I play on the D2 AWP server. However, this is less of a suggestion than it is a complaint with a possible suggestions for solutions.

You guys have a serious problem with administrators in the servers. Not that they're doing bad things or abusing people or anything, just the fact that there are never any there. I've been playing on the servers pretty much every day for the past week, and in that time I've only met 3 admins. Turbanator, Absolute, some other guy who's name I can't remember. I know there are more because I've seen them on the servers in the past, but these three admins cannot be on all the time, and I'm pretty sure they all have lives because I rarely see them playing counter-strike. There have been multiple hackers that we've had to deal with (and by deal with I mean try to talk into not using their hacks any more), there are AFKs that sit in the servers for hours, sometimes the server just needs a restart (and all that means is a change of map), and sometimes there are mic spammers/people who abuse chat and use racist language.

Now, I'm an admin in the pantless clan and I know how you're going to respond to most of these claims:
"Well, all you have to do is record a demo and submit it to our ban review team."
I've done this before, and nothing has come of it. It wasn't like it was "Oh, maybe this dude has walls, we should watch him more carefully". It was just blatant aimbot with the dude just running and spraying a para and getting pure headshots. I recorded two demos, submitted them, and he was on the next day. I then posted something in the chatbox saying "There's an aimbotter in the server, he was here yesterday, I already submitted a ban request, I already have demos, I just need an admin to come in here and ban him" and was told "That's not how things work". Granted, I don't know how things work here, but common sense is common sense.

"AFKs don't really affect the game that much, it's more of an annoyance. If it bothers you that much then play somewhere else."
No. You guys have full servers with a fun population. Getting rid of AFKs opens up slots, makes the rounds go faster, and it makes people think that the server is actually being administrated.

"Restarting the server doesn't actually do anything. If you're lagging it must be client-side." <--this one really irks me because if EVERYONE experiences it then it ISN'T client-side
Also, you can't tell me that restarting the server doesn't do anything because every time the server "resets" everyone starts playing more smooth and getting better reg, AND THEY COMMENT ABOUT IT IF YOU LISTEN

"You can mute them so that you don't have to see that."
That's not the point. They're breaking server rules and being a nuisance to EVERYone in the server, not just me.



Yes I come off like an asshole in this post but, frankly, I'm fed up. It's like clans/communities just stopped even caring about their CS:S population.

well this is something that everyone here is working on and ive played with u before a bunch really and as an admin in another server u know there is certain stuff u have to follow by like REGS cant just go banning them cuz someone has a hunch u need to do the demos submit and wait the demo reveiw team cant jump on something right away itll take them sometime to get to it and reveiw it. And if u were having this many problems u should come to one of us and talk to us about it in HO i mean. in HO there is eggyolk/snizzlesnap/absolute/and myself we'll help u with anything we can within reason of course. Like I said, it wasn't a hunch. The dude was running through the server with a para just spraying headshots with his screen upside-down and everything. That's just blatant and ruining the server. You should be able to ban those people on the spot, and I've seen admins do it before.

This is the most rediculous useless post I've read in weeks...How is this constructive in any way shape or form?

If you make a dumbass comment like this again, I'll personally add the ban....You've obviously taken no time to see how we operate, or maybe to actually contribute time yourself - instead, you waste 10 minutes writing a completely stupid ass destructive demeaning post to a community of VOLUNTEERS that have given over 3 million people a place to game for nearly 10 years.

Didn't your mother ever tell you if you don't have anything nice to say, then keep your fuckin pie hole shut? OR volunteer YOUR time to assist vs making moronic insinuations.
