Thread: BF3 Server

I would love to see a BF3 server that is not infantry only. Is there any one else interested ?

We used to have one but I believe there were issues with keeping it populated.

I had two BC2 servers I rented when the game came out a lot of servers went by the wayside after a month or two, sure took a lot of seeding to get mine populated.

I will keep an eye out, if you get one going I will try to help out with populating.

any suggestions as to the gameplay type?

In BF2 I loved Conquest, In BC2 I prefered rush. In BF3 so far (just got it) I prefer Conquest but that may be because I spent so much time in metro for the Alpha and the beta.

If I were going to pick one though I would say Conquest but not hardcore.

Can't the game types be mixed?

Because Conquest on Metro sucks big time. It is lop sided for the RU team as they can control the first flags easily and hold off the US Team.

This map is actually better setup as Rush. It forces the rushing team to advance and does not create such a bottle neck.

As for the other maps:

Caspian Border( CONQUEST) - is great if you allow Mobile AA to offset the air attacks. and works well as Conquest

Operation Firestorm - The same as Caspian the Mobile AA works to offset the air attacks

Seine Crossing - Works better with limited vehicles, maybe IFV for both sides. Tanks are just an over kill.

Noshahr Canals - Also works best as RUSH

Kharg Island (RUSH) - works well as Caspian Border with AA offsetting the air attack

Damavand Peak - Seems okay with limited air vehicles and works well as Conquest if you limit the map ,but is a lot of fun if you use the entire map and set it up as RUSH. This requires the teams to change tactics during play.

Grand Bazarre - I have seen iot work verty well with limited vehicles such as IFV only, both as COnquest and as Rush.

I also think you should set it up for 1 player to start. This allows players to get on and practice flying, which is one of the hardest things to master in BF3

Aye, more people for the 1p start club. Nothing is fun about joining a server to see that you have to wait for players to join before you do something. I've joined an empty server to test this. After a while, other people join for point farms and then an actual game begins. Notice how the servers that are almost always empty require four or more players to start.

Changed to 1 player start. If it doesn't stick, let me know.
