I think NG has 66 tick right? If I was reading correctly 100 tick would be a good thing to have rather than 66 tick.

O.O that's a good read right there... I wish we could have 100 tick back. I miss it so.

What about 1 million tick ?

uh.............. The answer to this is a giant no --- and the reason for that is;
The reason valve removed the 100 ticrate to begin with is because 80% of the players cannot even receive 33 frames per second let alone 66, which in turn makes the server performance less because the server is sending tons of extra frames to every player in the server that they can't even display.
This is not needed. All that mod does is return back a '100' tick to the player. It doesn't change anything the engine is sending or receiving.

see I knew all that, however, that's what baffles me. The most fps I ever get is 40 and that's for like a split second, but if that's the case you'd think the registration would have improved once we went to 66 instead of 100? I don't know that's really confusing. I was just curious ^_^

Tickrate can be affected by FPS. If you are only getting 40fps the most you can send is 40 ticks, you will most likely NOT notice the difference between a 66tick and a 100 tick because you can't even reach 66fps to send the 66ticks. It's directly affected.
To reply to adam's post, "most" people that play css will not notice the difference between 66 tick and 100 tick. It is a waste of bandwidth if the player doesn't have their rates set correctly, but there are plugins that can force a clients rates' to be set to match the servers. This information would be stored in a file and each time that steamid joined it would re correct if changed.
Why pay for the extra bandwidth if not needed, I completely agree, and most of ng's servers are huge slot servers, office with 50 slots, dust2 with 50 slots, hideout with 44 slots. Not only does it require more bandwidth to be sending back and forth, keeping track of bullets/players etc, but it makes the servers run harder, especially when you use 1 box to host a couple servers...
I am use to 66 now and I love playing here at ng, I believe ng has a monopoly on office servers at night. I am not able to find any other office server with less than 50 ping that is populated late night. ng definitely has something that other communities don't have, but I do think that ng should listen to the players more. ONE setting can break a server, as Adam stated on another thread, you guys are skeptical to changes and dust2 was repopulated without any changes to the server. I agree, "don't fix it if it's not broke", to a certain extent.
I however, do hope when ng hosts cs:go servers, they will ENFORCE sv_pure (if it's still there, or whatever equivalent) and make their servers stand out by offering the BEST possible pub experience. When I say "best" I mean no tickrate cap, you guys were against it when it was here, UN-LIMIT the sv_maxrate from 30000. I am curious to see what happens when cs:go comes out, bandwidth costs only become cheaper, cs:go will be a fresh new counter strike series, source won't live forever, there will be more competition for NG other than HG. More players to receive donations from and that goes to same meeting awesome new people from ng.
I've been playing on NG for a long time, since 2007 on SURF, moved onto dust2 and onto office. the servers are always up, I know servers cost money, running a community costs money, but the donations more than pay for the hardware costs of a server. I know ng has sponsors, rents out gameservers, and makes money off the ads on the forums. Not to mention the annoying ad's when visiting the forums, being a donator should offer some sort of disabling the ad's benefit.
I'm not here to complain, but to only offer both sides of the story, I like playing here, I like meeting new people at ng, but cheaters do hurt a server. Just throw an aim-botter in a full server for 10 minutes with no admin and see what happens...I've witnessed it.

the thing im suprised by is the fact that 80% of players don't get more than 66 fps. that's astounding to me. I'm getting solid 200+ basically the entire time.
oh well, 100 tic would be really nice. I just played in Officenoobs101 with 100 tic and the reg seemed to be abit better, but that might also be cuz i get 24 ping there as opposed to 80 something on ng office. but, the bandwidth costs do matter alot, especially when most of it would be wasted bandwidth
can't wait to see what GO is like, hopefully it will be just as good as source if not better.

You can take a look at valve's hardware survey for the information regarding - The 80% comes from valve's blog regarding their decision to remove the ability to set it at 100 tickrate.
The plugins that adjust this again are only making a change to the multiplier that returns the ticrate when you type it. It's not real. There is no way to increase it. (excluding monks hacks)
We will host CS:GO servers.
