I was going to set this as a poll but that's a waste of your time and a waste of my time. First of all, I can't think of a good admin in Office. When it comes right down to an admin's job and what their purpose is, there isn't one good admin in there. Maybe it has to do with the fact that, for the most part, the admins tend to favor playing on CT side but maybe not. So, I propose letting the 1:30 rule die out. It serves no purpose at all. It's never enforced yet it's always threatened. During the days when no admin is online, it's actually quite interesting to see how the server is played. You end up with Ts checking out snowman while CTs sit on the ledge in front yard. It's not really that different from how it's played in the server now. I can't remember the last time the CTs actually rescued all the hostages with more than :30 left on the clock. Now, I did a test, just for the hell of it. If you get the projector room hostages last, it takes roughly :18 to rescue them through back yard. If you account for the rescuer checking for Ts with their primary out, add another :06. That's :24 total. If the CTs were rescuing all the hostages at 1:00, that leaves :36 on the game clock. Since the CTs should be grabbing at least two hostages by 1:30 (which only ever happens when you have the idiots who only rescue two of them), they should either rescue or kill all Ts in plenty of time, right?
Apparently not. The reason is a simple one. People are too concerned with their kdr. They don't want to rescue the hostages and win the round, they want to get a "Holy Shit" and wait until the last possible second before doing anything they have to. The admins don't ever slay camping CTs, unless it's some nameless CT no one's ever heard of who's camping back window with :27 left. There is a rather large bias when it comes to that. The "name" people get all the time and leeway in the world and never get slayed. I often wonder about that since it's a common practice to slay Ts who kill or meatshield hostages--Funny thing about that. I understand the rule for slaying Ts who kill hostages. After all, it changes the game. But, when it comes to meatshielding, there's also a bias. Ts can't meatshield at all without being slayed. CTs, on the other hand, can take the hostages and camp right in front of them in spawn or drop them off between the doors to paper and projector. This goes back to my theory of bias on the part of admins being CTs. They don't want to lose points, either, especially since it's -10 per hostage. They'd rather the Ts shoot the hostages and lose points.
My final point. Admins, I've noticed, LOVE to slay AFKs. Especially when a T is about to kill one. A couple nights ago, the CTs died off extremely quick and the Ts were racing to the AFK with about 1:38 left on the clock. The admin slayed the AFK just before they got there. They literally can't stand letting the Ts get kills. I've never seen a T AFK get slayed in all my time playing here. I don't know. Just pointing out some things that I've noticed.
My main point is that you should just get rid of the 1:30 rule. Nobody respects it and nobody's afraid of it. They all know, Ts and CTs, that they're not going to be slayed for camping past 1:30. Then again, what do I know? Don't bother asking me to reply to this thread. I'm not going to. This is just putting my thoughts out there to be considered. Whether anything's done about it or not is no concern of mine. That's for you guys to figure out.
