Thread: ** Ventrilo Tutorial **

Main uses for this Vent:

1.) If you are a NG regular, or just like chilling in vent. Please join up !!!
2.) If you dont like Teamspeak much, join up here ( As stated above )
3.) We will be creating Public Vent channels for teams that would like them.
- You can reguest these channels in the Clan Forums sections of the forums.
4.) We will create channels in the Vent for Public Scrims.

We are bringing back the Public Scrim Servers, so be on the look out and be ready to play !!!

I will take you through setting up a user, server, and bind (Push to talk button) for ventrilo and joining the Noobgalore ventrilo.

First Download the Latest Ventrilo Client, which at present is Version 3.0.8

When you go to download the client make sure you download the Client version.. Circled Orange, note the version circled is for Windows if you require the MAC version please download the version below that says MAC OSX. Unfortunately there is no version available for linux systems, but they are developing one.

Next Wait for it to download. Then install, and next open ventrilo...


Click and open the Add/Edit user accounts...


Click NEW and a box opens, enter the name you would like for ventrilo. Then click ok.

Click Ok again in the Setup User Box.

Your now back to the Ventrilo Main, We will now add noobgalore as one of your ventrilo servers. Click The arrow button with Add/Edit server connections.


A new window will open Connection Editor, Click NEW and enter the name of The server as Noobgalore Ventrilo, Click OK.


Next Drag the Bar with your server's in to Noobgalore Ventrilo and Edit the Hostname or Ip and Port number to.
Hostname: vent.noobgalore.us Port: 2008


You will only need to enter a password if you have registered with the server, ignore default channel. Click Ok in Connection Editor Window.

Next Click Ok in the, Setup Bindings Window, and it will take you back to the Main Ventrilo Window. Now time to see if you have got it all right. Good Luck, Select the User acount from the drop down Menu, Select the Server you would like Noobgalore Ventrilo Of course, and finally the Bind you wish to use. Then Click the big Connect Button!


Now it may take a while, and seem slow even on my fairly decent computer so just give it a few minutes. It may take longer depending on how many people are on, and how far away you are from the server. With me being in the United Kingdom It takes at least 15 Seconds to connect.

Next to change channel just Double Click on the name of the channel you wish to join, and it will move you into that channel then press your bind key and begin Chatting away. Have Fun, I hope to see you in there!
