Thread: If you can't see sprays

so i FINALLY found out after way too much research why i couldn't see sprays in counter-strike source. i always thought it was because of steam cloud.

r_decals and mp_decals aren't the solution.. it is now..


cl_playerspraydisable "0"


so yeah i can see sprays again...woot woot!!

How does that stuff get turned off in the first place I wonder. For example, a couple days ago I logged on and my cross hair was huge. So I do the usual cl_crosshairscale 2000 and it's back to where I like it. But then a number of rounds later (20 rounds or so) and it's huge again.

It's baffling.

I have to readjust my rates and crosshair every time I restart css. It's says that it is synchronizing with cloud everytime that I get off. but yeah....

you should have made a .cfg file with all of your admin binds. in that file you can also place your crosshairscale setting/rates and other custom settings

you can turn off steam cloud if you open your steam games list and right click css/properties... its somewhere in there.

if you don't have a .cfg file to run all of your commands do this..

open notepad

type in all of your commands

ie.

cl_crosshairscale 2000
mp_decals 200
rate 30000
cl_updaterate 66
cl_cmdrate 66


...etc

once that's done save it.

when the save window opens for the file type select all file types (or something like that)

call the file autoexec.cfg

save it in your cfg folder inside of your cstrike folder

so whenever you start css...it does all of those commands in the beginning before you enter a server

I remember having an autoexec....not sure what happened to it.

Go into your cstrike folder>cfg folder> and should be a word pad file called config its got all your binds and rates and what not and whatever you do DONT delete it

Yeah, that's another thing. Sometimes my binds don't stay changed when I leave counterstrike. Why does css hate me?

I recall adding an example autoexec.cfg to one of the stickies in the admin information centre (the one that teaches you how to make admin binds). Here it is again, if anyone wants it.
