Today's update added a few new features that we'll all have to adjust to. Those of you wondering how to take advantage of them can look here.
->Changing your in-game name
Right-click on the Steam quicklaunch icon, go to settings>friends>name. Players names can no longer be changed through the game itself, but can be changed via the shift+tab steam overlay.
->Adding an NG tag to your name
Since the update broke the !ngme function, all you have to do now is copy/paste one of our tags into your name using the steps above.
Tag list:
NG
[NG]

->Enabling multicore rendering
Enabling this option will allow those with multiple CPU's to utilize the full extent of their processing power, leading to a slight increase in framerate. To access the screen from the screenshot, go to the options menu in-game, then go to video>advanced. This option is turned off by default, so everyone who wants it has to turn it on manually. motion blur can also be disabled from here (highly recommended).
->Disabling the new server browser/blacklisting servers
If you want to disable the annoying new server browser and use the old one, uncheck the box outlined with the red rectangle below. The blacklist feature is also outlined there.
->Changing the scoreboard colour
Enter one of the following commands into the console (the ~ button)
- cl_scoreboard_ct_color_red
- cl_scoreboard_ct_color_green
- cl_scoreboard_ct_color_blue
- cl_scoreboard_t_color_red
- cl_scoreboard_t_color_green
- cl_scoreboard_t_color_blue
- cl_scoreboard_dead_color_red
- cl_scoreboard_dead_color_green
- cl_scoreboard_dead_color_blue
->Removing annoying graphs from your screen
If your screen looks like that, it's because you're running net_graph 3. Open the console and type net_graph 1 to remove the irritating graph/coloured text, or net_graph 0 to remove all of it.
->Getting sprays to work
If you notice that your spray no longer works, it's because of the new changes. Sprays now only work if they are 128, 256, or 512 pixels wide. You'll have to resize your existing sprays or drag them over a background of that size.
->Turning off the new killcam
If you don't like it, go to options>multiplayer>advanced and check the box that says 'disable freezecam' or type cl_disablefreezecam 1 in console
->Achievement farming against bots
Most people don't seem to realize that achievements/achievement progress count even if you're only playing against bots via the create server option. If you just want to get them over with, this is much less aggravating than slowly grinding in an actual server.
Useful bot commands are as follows (all get entered into the console):
bot_kill - Quickly ends the round if you die and don't want to wait
bot_mimic 1 - Forces bots to mirror and mimic your every move
bot_mimic 0 - Turns the above command off
mp_teams_unbalance_limit 16 - Allows you to add bots unevenly
mp_autoteambalance 0 - Turns off auto team balance
bot_add_ct - Adds a CT bot
bot_add_t - Adds a T bot
bot_knives_only - Limits bot weapons to only knives
All of those commands work with sv_cheats set to 0, so any achievements will count whilst using them.
->Removing the 'surrendering ragdolls' bug
Enter the following commands into the console, then restart CSS to fix the death animations.
violence_agibs 1
violence_ablood 1
violence_hgibs 1
violence_hblood 1
CS must be restarted for them to take effect.
If that doesn't work try cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 0 to turn bodies off entirely. cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 1 will turn them back on.
->Turning off names on the radar
Open the console, and enter overview_names 0
To re-enable them, enter overview_names 1
->Turning off 'Fire in the hole!' radio spam
Enter sv_ignoregrenaderadio 1 into the console. Some of you are gonna be happy that you can finally get rid of this.
