Thread: Server Message Issue

I imagine a lot of people have the problem where a server message appears in the top left corner of your screen and covers over the top of your radar. I have the problem on 1280x960 and 1366x768 (on my lcd tv). On 1600x1200 the messages do not overlap my radar but I have to go to a lower refresh rate. Often I have to rotate around to see where my teamates and visible enemies are on the radar when the message is up. It eats up precious seconds when every second counts. I also hate to be rotating my view towards walls to see my radar. Someone watching might yell, "Walls!" if they saw it. So, my request is that server messages be restricted to the chat area only and not up at the top left corner of the screen. If anyone has any other solutions besides just changing resolution, I'd like to hear it.

I wish it changes also, but the messages don't appear enough times to really bother me, so I don't really mind.

Just live with it, it's a pub not a cal match.

agreed if you are taking it that seriously than you need to just realize that you are in a 44 man office PUB!!!!!!!!!!

There is a program (legal) called hud tweaker. It allows you to move your radar, change they way it looks and the size of it. I have mine at the bottom of the screen and it is clear so I can see through it. You can also move everything else on the screen and change the size of it.

I installed this about 3 years ago and love it but a few friends who installed it in the last couple of months had problems getting it to work. I am not sure why they did. It is normally in French language but it is also in English as well. It was the server message that made me install this program.

This program does nothing else, so no cheats or anything related to cheating. All it does is move the icons, words and map on the screen and resize them to however you want.

If you use this program and can't get it to work I am not sure what to tell you. I tried to help my friend use it but I failed to help him to get it to work.

Thanks Randinie. I searched around for something like that. Mostly I was just looking for a console command to move it. I'll try your program.

I'm in the same boat at T.C. I have not ever payed too much attention to messages.

I have it cover the top 1/4 of my radar all the time and suddenly I can't see if cts are rushing longhall and I should try to flank to bathroom or if someone is waiting at the end of the garage in CT spawn window with an M4 waiting for my head.

I've always suspected most of the regulars even never use radar.

I strongle second Krit's suggestion. Plus, any solution that requires me to get some new series of scripts and programs just to not have to deal with something bothersome in CS makes me wanna puke.

I think the whole graphics cards to drivers, to net_graph to choke, to ping to every little size and command imaginable needing to be changed to get CS to be perfect is enough. Having server side problems of any kind once I am in game thus angers me to no end when they happen (though NG is one of the best, the radar thing is my only gripe).

Just to continue the rampage, I don't give even a little bit of a ********* care what you think of me for liking playing cs and taking it seriously. So many people think it is cool on these boards to hate other people for posting a suggestion saying "it's just a game" or "don't worry about it".
