Thread: Pub behavior

A thread I won't mention got me thinking about a problem I constantly see in Hideout. There are lots of people who only join to cause problems and abuse the server, but then cry when they are told to stop. The other thing I see all the time are people joining and then bitching about the server, the admins, the rules, etc. For some reason the fact that this is a privately owned, public and free server is totally lost on these clowns. Forget the fact that they only join to call everyone (including the admins) faggots or other "shock" words they like, or join to act like idiots and then pretend it's trolling; no one seems to understand servers are not democracies. You have zero right to join and bitch about everything, even if you donate. In fact there are certain people who seemingly donate just because they think it gives them permission to act like a dumb shit. The people who run these servers are very forgiving and patient, which is great, but many times it feels like their forgiveness is intentionally abused by people who know they basically cannot get banned. Of course if you are a donator your opinion should be and is held in higher regard, but game chat isn't the place for rules debate (as if rules are something to debate in the first place). Bring your problems to the forum, or send a message here to an admin.

I know this stuff falls on deaf ears and CS is just one of those games trolls and kids like to play, so there will always be ignorant people abusing servers. I also want to mention I am in no way officially affiliated with NG, so this is all just personal opinion. I don't want this to become a bash-fest or suicide forest for the people who think I'm talking about them, but if you do think I'm talking about you, maybe you should do an inventory of your pub server behavior and help try to keep this place a fun community for everyone.

Scape, I am glad you are brave enough to express your opinion so freely!

Trolls will always be around. Donator or not, regular player or admin, everybody who joins any NG server to play will have to respect the same rules. No exceptions.

I agree hideout is more plagued by trolls than other NG servers and most likely that is because Hideout is the most popular NG server. When you see behavior like that please go in vent or come here on the forums and ask our admins to help restore order. In the rare case when an admin is not available, you can disable the voice, at least until an admin is present.

At the same time if you are a regular in hideout and if u like being part of NG you can apply for admin and maybe help us one day keeping these servers run smooth.

Your voice does not fall under deaf ears. Any time you have a concern you can address it here and NG management will take care of it.

We are normally on around the clock, normally you can find an admin on ventrilo or pm one on the forums but like Roman said, this game we play on has a giant history of trolls. You can pretty much say that CS in general invented it or bought it to a whole new level. if there were no trolls and hackers, there wouldn't be a need for an admin but this is CSS and a player, an admin, and everything else in between is all part of the CSS experience.

I guess I singled out Hideout, but it is definitely a CS problem on every server, ever. I have been dropping in dust2 a lot more because for whatever reason, that map attracts hackers like flies on shit. I got a clean demo of one no less than 10 minutes ago actually haha. But anyway, I might apply for admin one of these days - I definitely have the time for it - but I wanted to wait to get my donations and play time up and try to be seen in Vent a lot more often than I am now. Plus it's easier to hide as a SPEC to demo hackers if they know you aren't admin
