Furthermore, AFK players slow the server down, it's just an extra set of instructions the server doesn't really need to deal with.
I'm going to apply for Admin on the server but even better yet I would rather an AFK kicker whether or not the player is AFK in the map or in spectate it's slowing the server down. I'm all for a faster server and a constant democratic voting system that is fair. 66% of votes is more than fair... I swear it was the NG D2 server I was on just a few nights ago that 74% of people voted to ban and the required percentage was something like 76%. Absolute bollocks. Let's make NG even better![]()
honestly.. think about this first. it makes NO sense at all for the question of this thread...
-kev wants to be able to votekick/ban with admins on
-you and drew want to kick admins off in general if they're afk
not the same.
personal experience.. i have never ever vote kicked or banned before i was an admin. i was a lot easier and quicker to go on the forums or vent or msg an admin on steam to come in to a server and take care of it.
this is why sometimes its hard for me to understand why its so hard for ppl to either be on the forums (you can have it open on the steam browser so you don't have to alt tab), be on vent to ask or save some players who have admin on a specific server.
anyways.. its nice to see that you care about the server enough to make an account just to bring this topic up. unlike other d2 members from the past.. you don't act like a retard to say "i know how to make d2 popular even though i've never owned a server myself" even if those people did, where is there server now? lol..
i'll have to talk with management to come up with some sort of solution or compromise. its only d2 players that have these problems.
the protocol for all servers are the same and its always been like this for years. for our busier servers this isn't a problem either because most of the server regs are on the forums and vent and they know what to do and who to contact if there is a problem.
as for you applying for admin.. its welcome but we do not like hacker police. we like to promote the community and a fun atmosphere with fun admins. being an admin who only want to catch hackers will lead to:
1. you hate being an admin because it feels like a job
2. you don't have fun anymore because you never get to play cause you assume every person with a good score is hacking
3. all you'll eventually care about is catching hackers = boring
i suggest you get to know the community.. get involved then apply. if your sole purpose is to ban hackers your chances of obtaining admin will be low

totally agree with Pyron....besides servers with votekick/voteban options have a tendency of becoming very annoying...or should i say the people in it.... the main issue ive seen in these types of servers is people consistently trying to votekick/ban people that are actually really good players.....its annoying to see the voting every few minutes and then the arguments that ensue there after....in my experience it is much faster and more reliable to go to forums or get on vent to grab an admin to make the judgement because 9 times out of 10 even if you try to ban a hacker with the voting options they just leave before the vote can be finished and come back shortly after the voting itself is reset......as for applying for admin...i agree with Pyron as well....as a former recruit for NG there is more to it than just going in and banning someone...trust me the work involved can get annoying sometimes....however it must be done....just make sure to have some fun in the mix otherwise it will become like a full time job for you....i among a few other admins found ourselves not being able to play because there is always a suspected/ accused hacker somewhere in our servers because we were new to the admin aspect and didnt balance it out......bottom line the old formula works .... there just has to be more of an effort to take that extra step and grab an available admin

Vent, forums, steam friends. Nuff sed.
1.) We have NEVER and will NEVER kick Admins in Spec.
2.) It's not that big of a problem. ;-)
3.) The Server traffic is growing again, so you can count on seeing more Admins in there soon !
Cheers !

What is this 'soon'?
It's a big enough problem to be brought up repeatedly on the forums. Can you imagine how many people have not bothered to bring it up on the forums and just switched to another server altogether? I'm not one of those people. I think the NG D2 server is my personal favourite haven as it is unlimited awps/cash, more fair play as a pub as well as the forgiving nature of the admins. I have been banned from dozens of servers for complaining about hackers. Yet when you join a server it says "Cheating will result in a permanent ban.", not "Whining will result in a permanent ban.", mute me, make me ragequit. Why would anyone be so upset with someone complaining about hackers? A bit oxymoronical, isn't it?
Understand that there are several solutions to this problem of not being able to get rid of hackers on the server. That's why we're stating different options. You're just poking at them saying... "they're not same". It seems like you really don't care about directly changing the state of trolling/hacking in the server.
I was getting team flashed like hell 2 days ago, when I died the kid was saying, "you mad?". When I asked Zero to take action he said he would first need to issue a warning. I feel justice was not served. There kids will continue to troll and hack a server with weak administration. Beef up the admins and be less tolerant towards trolling and hacking.
Or don't do a god damn thing.

Might I add, Zero and Horse were in there last night... Horse was spamming porn on mic and Zero wasn't muting him. Where's the professionalism?

no one is laughing at the idea we simply stated why those ideas do not work and offered a simple solution which we have been using for years (which works may I add) apparently isnt happening because these posts start popping up...take the extra step and do as suggested....to be honest here and i think it needs to be said that this community has been here for many many years outlasting most others and for a reason....THEY DO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING....they are a great community who is FAIR and tolerant to a point...even when i was giving them hell back in the day and received my few mutes and short bans from chatbox i found it fair because i was being an asshat...let the admins do what they need to and if you do not feel that it is fair we going to tell you to do the same thing and get on vent/chatbox/steam friends and grab another to see what they can do for you..... anyway peace and enjoy your gaming

And... This is why we quickly lock threads..
How you can turn what I said in to something negative, is beyond me.
We do appreciate the feedback, but the "look at all of the threads created", isn't something we will revolve our decisions and Community around - and it will never be.
We are working on the Server and it's Activity and can promise you that Admin activity in the Server will pick up.
Thanks for caring, but we got it.
Cheers !
