Your rate would make you lag. If you are using 30000 - 20 - 30 that makes no sense. Plus, it would be physically impossible for you to have more lag on a higher tic. It's just like making the server a 33 tic, which sucks. Thus, 100 servers are nice and smooth, yet since you will be set at 20 - 30, you'll be playing the same. Originally Posted by AK47

Ive played on 100 tic servers and changed my rates accordingly. Yet i still get choke which causes lag. Choke according to steam is when the server determines (per your rates) that it is going to overload your connection. I get 15Mb download. The server wont choke that.
